Mamta’s Manta is Anup J Kat's small attempt at showing affection and paying tribute to the 2 most beautiful things mother nature gave us, women and the ocean.
A small percentage among the 355 million women who are of menstruating age in India can afford disposable sanitary napkins, most end up using sanitary products that contain high levels of plastic and synthetic content. Hundreds of Kilos are estimated to land up as waste. Eventually ending up in rivers, streams and oceans posing a serious threat to any life around it and taking hundreds of years to decompose.
A small switch made towards more nature friendly options like cloth pads, menstrual cups and biodegradable sanitary napkins will go a long way in making the planet a better place to live in.
